Transportation

By Car

Street parking is available on most blocks in the neighborhood, but check for meters and parking regulations, and don't park illegally (your car will be towed in the blink of an eye). The nearest secured 24-hour parking garage is on Henry Street between Pineapple and Orange Streets. Rental cars are also available there. Another parking garage is on Love Lane, a one-way alley from Henry to Hicks Streets beside CVS. On Cadman Plaza, the new, tall office building between Clinton and Pierrepont also has parking in its basement.

By Subway

Manhattan is easily accessible via the 2, 3, 4, 5, M, R, A, C subway lines. Pick up a free subway map at any station, or consult the MTA/New York City Transit subway map online.

  • 2, 3 - Clark Street station on our block, around the corner to the left at Henry and Clark.
  • A, C - High Street Station is 4 blocks away on Cadman Plaza. High Street itself is long gone. Turn right out the front door, right again on Pineapple, left on Henry to Cranberry. Cross Henry and walk through the passageway between the town houses to the subway.
  • M, R - Court Street station is 4 blocks away in the opposite direction, at Clinton and Montague. Turn left out the door to Montague, then left on Montague to St. Ann's church.
  • 4, 5 - Borough Hall station connects to the M & R but the main entrances are at Court Street and Joralemon. The 2 & 3 also stop at Borough Hall.  An easy way to connect to the 4 & 5, particularly in bad weather, is to take the 2 or 3 at Clark Street one stop into Brooklyn to Borough Hall and transfer there.
  • A, C, F - Jay Street station is across the street from Sid's Hardware store on Jay Street at the corner of Willoughby Street, about three blocks east of the Borough Hall (2, 3, 4, 5, M, R) station. The High Street station is closer than Jay Street for the A and C trains, but at Jay Street you can catch the F train to Chinatown, the lower east side, and the East Village.

By Bus

Many buses traverse downtown Brooklyn and stop somewhere near here, several at Borough Hall and others at Cadman Plaza and Tillary Street. Ask any bus driver for a bus map, or download the Brooklyn bus map and notes from the MTA's website (PDF format).
